I create images that help you see yourself as art, through genuine connection. Portraiture is not just a reflection; it’s a celebration and exploration of who you truly are as a woman in today’s society. I understand the struggle of not being happy with the person staring back at you in the mirror and the feeling of disconnection from your true self.
With over a decade of experience, my passion is revealing the way others perceive you, empowering you to make a statement and illuminate the beauty of your inner self.
We are only here for a short time and self expression is one of the most important ways we can connect, navigate and grow with each other. Whether you’re feeling sure of who you are or you’re on a journey of self-discovery, you are WORTH this exploration!
Take the time for yourself. Let’s celebrate who you are at this moment and create something beautiful together.
Like many, I struggled with body image from a young age. Growing up in the 90s only heightened these insecurities—glossy magazines filled with “perfect” bodies made it feel like you needed to look a certain way to be worthy, making it hard to simply accept being human. Those airbrushed images made celebrities seem like flawless, untouchable beings. In school, I faced bullying that amplified these feelings. I was told I didn’t deserve to sit in certain places or wear the same clothing brands, and even had so-called friends join in on the chants that I didn’t belong, which led to a deeply negative sense of self-worth.
Despite the negative impact that the beauty standards in magazines had on me, I was always drawn to the photography; noticing the composition, lighting, and the poses and expressions of the models. People always said I have an eye for photography and I credit that to the time I spent studying those images in magazines.
When I was around 13, a discouraging photography teacher temporarily pushed me away from creating my own images. He judged me before knowing me, saying I wasn’t “serious” because of the partner I’d been paired with. My partner was not motivated, and instead of seeing my potential or offering any guidance, the teacher just assumed I wasn’t committed either. He wouldn’t even listen to my questions, brushing them off like they didn’t matter. His words really stung because I was really looking forward to this class. It left me feeling misunderstood and made me question if I even belonged in photography at all.
That experience is a perfect example of the kind of feeling I never want anyone to have. It was proof of how damaging a snap judgment can be, especially from someone in a position of influence. It wasn’t until high school that I found the courage to pick up my camera again. A graphic design assignment that needed photos gave me a reason to create, and I started photographing my friends. They loved seeing themselves captured as beautifully as any celebrity, and that reignited my passion. I realized that I wanted to bring that same sense of worth and confidence to others through my work, making sure they never feel judged or dismissed like I did.
At 30, I had an epiphany: this is my life, and I deserve to live it on my own terms. Why was I still holding myself to unrealistic standards and trying to follow others’ rules? I had always been worthy, and I was finally ready to celebrate that. So, I booked myself a boudoir shoot—a chance to see myself in a new light and to embrace all that I am. The experience was transformative, and it made me want every woman to feel that same joy and confidence.
But the day after my 30th birthday, just a couple of weeks before my shoot, I suffered a brain injury . I didn’t feel quite like myself during the shoot, and the injury ended up forcing me to put work and much of my life on hold for a while. But this challenging time taught me more than I ever imagined about self-care, self-love and self-worth. As a bonus, I now know firsthand that you can get beautiful photos of yourself—even when you’re not feeling your best. All it takes is finding a good photographer you can truly trust.
Does this mean I’ve erased decades of conditioning? Of course not. It’s a daily practice, and some days are easier than others. But as I grow older, I’m more at peace with simply being who I am. Each time I see a photo of myself that I love, it lights me up in a way that positively impacts every part of my life. All women deserve that kind of reminder—a beautiful, uplifting reflection of who they are.
I’ve taken dance since I was 8 years old, and honestly, I can’t get enough of it. You’ll often catch me bustin’ a move whenever there’s music playing and I’m still involved with the dance studio here in town that I grew up dancing at.
Traveling is another big thing for me. Growing up, I was lucky to see so many cool places around the world but I’m still itching to explore more.
And let’s talk food — I’m all about savoury dishes but chocolate also has a special place in my heart. Basically, I just love to eat! You’ll never catch me missing out on indulging when I feel the need.
I am a dog person (I’m allergic to cats…not much I can do about that). Growing up we had a family dog and I have had two dogs since then. Lucy, my 7 year old beagle/schnauzer, is my current sidekick. Whenever I see a dog I can’t help but feel the urge to shower them with love and attention because I think dogs are so wonderful and we don’t deserve them!
BLACK & WHITE BOUDOIR
In case you didn’t notice, black and white is my chosen way to photograph boudoir. Why? It’s classic, timeless, sensual and it helps put the focus on YOU! I’m not interested in elaborately detailed studio sets, I just want to photograph you because you deserve the attention!
I don’t only photograph women but the majority of my clients are women. No one on this website is a professional model. Let’s get this straight. They are mothers, daughters, wives, grandmothers, career women, designers, teachers, students, dancers, small business owners and survivors.
Having a photo shoot with me isn’t about pretending you’re someone else. It’s about feeling your absolute best and embracing all that you can be while I guide you through every step of your experience. I make photographs with you and for you, not for anyone else or for what others think you should be. All you need to do is trust me.
“A photograph isn’t necessarily a lie but nor is it the truth. It’s more of a fleeting, subjective impression. What I like most about photography is the moment you can’t anticipate: you have to be constantly watching for it, ready to welcome the unexpected. ”
