Q: Everyone on your website looks like a model. I am not a model...can I do this?

a: The people on my website are NOT models. They are just like you! They also thought they couldn’t have photos like that because they “don’t look like a model” or aren’t “photogenic”. I know how to pose you to look your very best and I know how to use my camera and equipment to create flattering photographs. You do not need to know how to model. I will direct you through it all, from letting you know how to prepare for your photo shoot, to how to pose. All you need to do is TRUST ME.

Q: How far in advance should I book my photo shoot?

a: I recommend booking your shoot about 1 or 2 months before you need to have your finished products. It’s just me working behind the scenes here so I tend to book up in advance. It’s never too early to contact me about booking your photo shoot experience! Your reveal session will be approximately 2-3 weeks after your photo shoot. Then depending on what product(s) you order, your finished product will arrive between 3 and 6 weeks after that.

Q: How much is a photo shoot?

a: Photo shoot experiences start at $799. All photo shoots include the shoot with myself, Brittany B, professional dry hairstyling and makeup application by one of my amazing artists, the light retouching of your images, your selected images in both a premium quality printed product (display folio or custom designed album) as well as digital files of each selected image and the in-person reveal session for you to select your favourite images and order your photo products.

There are also incredible options for hanging your favourite images on the wall as art. You will have the opportunity to upgrade your photo shoot package or purchase individually at your in-person reveal session.

Q: what do your packages include?

a: Each photo shoot includes your premium quality printed products (either a display folio or album) and your digital files of each image you’ve selected. With Brittany B, you get both!

During your in-person reveal session, we will look at just how many photos you have to have and see if they fit into your photo shoot package. You will also have the chance to upgrade your package or add on a piece of exquisite wall art.

Q: When and how do I select my favourite photos from my shoot?

a: Brittany B Portraits is proud to offer in-person reveal sessions to select and order your favourite images. This will be a few weeks after your photo shoot.

This is done in-person for your convenience. This way, you can be assisted in deciding between images. You can see similar images side by side for easy selection and I can help you select a variety for an album or wall art. It can be overwhelming to try and go through your own images and I don’t want the customer service to end at the photo shoot!

Another reason is for security. It’s standard for some photographers in the industry to do online proofing galleries but it’s not something I’m comfortable with. I don’t want your images being shared online without your permission. Your privacy is taken seriously!

Q: What “KIND” of photos do you take?

a: You can call them boudoir, fashion, magazine-style, beauty, glamour, or even personal branding photos. I call them portraits. I specialize in bringing out your real beauty and personality in every shot I take.

A portrait represents the personality or mood of a person and makes the viewer feel something. My goal is to celebrate you with wall-worthy images, whether they’re professional images for your business or a breathtaking boudoir-esque shots. You could have a polished, fine art look, wear a dress or a bodysuit, have fabric draped around you or even wear nothing! Email brittanybportraits@gmail.com to ask about your shoot!

Q: Where will my photo shoot take place? Do you have a studio?

a: Brittany B has a private photography studio in her home, not far from Sardis Secondary School in Chilliwack. It’s just an hour outside of Vancouver. It has grey flooring, white walls and a variety of backdrops, natural lighting and studio lighting to change things up.

On-location photo shoots are welcome if you have an outdoor space in mind or a place that you’re just dying to shoot at! This might require scheduling a bit further in advance. On-location shooting is available for an additional fee. Just ask!

Q: What should I wear?

a: The most popular question! The answer is simply, whatever you feel confident in! If you’re celebrating your femininity, independence, sexuality and badass-ness you can probably bring things you already have in your closet. A bodysuit, a blazer, an oversized sweater, a cropped sweatshirt and high waist panties, a robe, a sleep shirt...you get the idea. Some clients bring lingerie and many choose to do a nude or topless option during their shoot. In a 1.5 hour shoot, you will usually have time for 3 “looks” or outfits. Don’t worry too much about what to wear. We could do an entire shoot of you and a bed sheet and you’ll be incredible!

Q: Which days of the week can I have my photo shoot?

a: Studio shoots are booked on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and some Saturdays.

Q: What should I do to prepare?

a: Your getting ready questions will be answered in the Brittany B Prep Guide which will be emailed to you after you have booked your photo shoot.

Q: How much do you or can you “PHOTOSHOP”?

a: I always stick to my gut when it comes to retouching, meaning that any “photoshopping” is tasteful. I focus on getting the right light, poses and angles to compliment your figure during your photo shoot. Skin flaws, blemishes and things like under-eye circles that you don’t have every day can be smoothed out. If it’s something permanent like a scar, a tattoo or stretch marks, those can be removed upon request. Further editing can be requested and I can quote that on a per-image basis at your reveal session.

I will work with the real you and prove that you are beautiful and these will be the best photos you have of yourself!

Q: Will you use my images on your website/social media?

a: I would absolutely love to use your images to show others how they too can be photographed as amazingly as you! However, I completely understand if you are not comfortable with your images being public. Therefore, I will not share unless you give me permission. I will honour whatever level of privacy you’re comfortable with. Some clients give full permission to share all their images, and some clients prefer to choose the images that are posted. I will make sure I’m clear on your wishes after your reveal session.
